My Healthy Midlife Crisis – Days 57-63

Day 57

Calories ate: 2438
Calories lost through exercise: 807
Net Calories: 1631
Exercise: Swimming – Swam 50 lengths in roughly 40 minutes

I really struggled to control my eating today, but luckily I did a lot of exercise, not just swimming but lots of walking. But I really want to get my eating back under control.

Day 58

Calories ate: 2274
Calories lost through exercise: 598
Net Calories: 1675
Exercise: Gym – Treadmill (20 min), Bike (10 min), Stairmaster (5 min), weightlifting

I’m still struggling to get eating under control, but definitely getting better.

Day 59

Calories ate: 2018
Calories lost through exercise: 608
Net Calories: 1410
Exercise: Ran 3.11 miles (5K) at an average pace of 10 min 37 sec per mile

I finally feel as if I’ve managed to get my eating back under control.  I was also really pleased with my running, and feel I could have done even better if it wasn’t so hot!  (hottest day of the year!)

Day 60

Calories ate: 1840
Calories lost through exercise: 441
Net Calories: 1399
Exercise: Gym – Treadmill (20 min), Bike (10 min), Stairmaster (5 min), round of weights.

It feels really good to have my eating back under control but fitting in the exercise continues to be the challenge.
Day 61

Calories ate: 2046
Calories lost through exercise: 389
Net Calories: 1657
Exercise: Gym – Treadmill (20 min), Bike (10 min) and round of weights.

I basically feel like I’m doing well but it’s been a busy week and as such getting to actually do the exercise is a real challenge.  Having said that, I seem to be avoiding the trap of eating like a pig while busy – which is a change of habit!

Day 62

Calories ate: 2138
Calories lost through exercise: 458
Net Calories: 1680
Exercise: Gym – Treadmill (25 min), Bike (10 min), round of weights.

Definitely a struggle to fit the exercise into the timetable, but still feel I’m basically on track.

Day 63

Calories ate: 2115
Calories lost through exercise: 467
Net Calories: 1647
Exercise: Gym – Treadmill (25 min), Bike (10 min)

I completely ran out of time at the gym, but still feel it’s largely been a good week.

Week Summary

Weight lost this week: 3lb
Total weight lost: 1st 7lb

I largely feel positive about the week.  It’s been a busy week, and I feel like I’ve basically managed to keep the diet under some sort of control and while it’s been a struggle to fit the exercise into my week, I’ve still done it.  I’ve also lost 3lb this week, which is great!  Only 37 more days to go, wish me luck!
