Top Ten British Sitcoms

I was looking on the internet and saw the results of a poll for the top 50 British sitcoms (see http://www.comedy.co.uk/guide/top/ if you want to see it for yourself).  Disagreed with it!  Part of it is that I don’t tend to like a lot of modern comedies.  Forgive me, but I like jokes to be in the sitcoms I watch!!

Anyway here’s my opinion:

  1. Blackadder
  2. Only fools and horses
  3. Vicar of Dibley
  4. Father Ted
  5. Red Dwarf
  6. Coupling
  7. Shameless
  8. ‘Allo ‘Allo
  9. Men behaving badly
  10. Goodnight Sweetheart

So what do you think?

Vicar of Dibley? Really? It’s got Dawn French in it.

I read your list and thought “he hasn’t even got Dads Army in there” then did my list and Dads Army wasn’t on it.
    My list would be:
    1. Watching
    2. I’m Alan Partridge
    3. Gavin and Stacey
    4. Phoenix Nights
    5. Brittas Empire
    6. Only Fools and Horses
    7. Bread
    8. Keeping Up Appearances
    9. Dinnerladies
    10. Fawlty Towers

I was going to put ChuckleVision in there (at number 3) but couldn’t decide if it counted as a sitcom or not.

You wanted to put ChuckleVision on and you’re complaining at Vicar of Dibley!! Bleeding cheek!
Dad’s Army nearly made the list, but not quite. I wasn’t sure if Shameless counted, but in the end decided it was my list and I couldn’t include it if I wanted to. If it hadn’t have gone on, Dad’s Army would be on the list.
